Background: Studies of facial aging up to the present have largely been observational and subjective. The use of surface-imaging systems in cosmetic practices may help to avoid complications and improve patient satisfaction. Over the years, these instruments have been refined to minimize unrealistic patient expectations and to maximize precision.
Objectives: Facial rejuvenation is a constant challenge for the clinician, where the correct evaluation of facial aesthetic parameters allows harmonic changes appropriate for each patient. This article aims to provide the reader with relevant information on an innovative surface-imaging system: the GeneHope Facial Analyzer. This portable and easy-to-use system has several advantages against the currently available commercial systems. Here we also compare the most recent technologies to reveal their difference.
Methods: The authors evaluated the face in a new fashion using GeneHope Facial Analyzer and the operative sequence was introduced.
Results: Adoption of GeneHope Facial Analyzer is justified for both novice and experienced hands and offers more precise analysis and cosmetic execution with superior results in terms of reversal of aging and creating the most beautiful version of the person. Besides it has advantages with respect to other systems that have been developed for evaluation of facial aesthetic treatments, such as short calibration time, short measuring time, easiness to use and it provides not only aesthetics but also ancient face reading practice concerning health issues before they become bigger problems, encouraging the delivery of the safe, healthy, and high-quality care expected of a board-certified plastic surgeon and/or dermatologist.
Conclusions: The innovative GeneHope Facial Analyzer is the critical missing corner to the current 3D surface-imaging systems. The role of GeneHope Facial Analyzer–like surface-imaging systems is important to the future of cosmetic surgery as long as plastic surgeons and/or dermatologists maintain an active role in the development these softwares to ensure their value.
